In less than 2 months from now, Godzilla, the legendary monster that terrified millions and ruined entire cities during his movie career so far, is making his comeback to the big screen, with Gareth Edwards’ take on the classic story.

The idea of remaking “Godzilla” might not hold too much promise as far as originality goes (after all, how many times can you tell the same story and still make it interesting?), but it looks like Edwards has found a way to do that – visually and with the help of a very strong cast comprised of some of the most talented actors out there.

Edwards’ “Godzilla” has just received a brand new trailer, which offers a better look at how the story will be visually different from any other previous installment or, for that matter, from most monster flicks we get today on a regular basis.

You can see it in full and in HD above.

As for the cast, it is comprised of Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe and Juliette Binoche, and the trailer sure does promise that their efforts won’t fall by the wayside in favor of action scenes.

Speaking of which, more of those are included in the new preview: come May 16, brace yourself for total destruction.
