In early 2014 after Dell had just rolled out the Dell Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 tablets, which came with an optional Active Stylus, customers started complaining about the inefficiency of these smart pens.

Negative remarks about the styluses escalated to the extent that Dell had to quietly pull the accessories from sale and promise it would offer replacements to affected users.

A few months later, the company rolled out the new and improved styluses (REV A01) but sadly the newcomers still had some issues. For example, the pens' delete buttons proved to be quite unreliable and no cursor was displayed when the tablet detected stylus input.

New improved Active Styluses are now available

Anyway, since Dell has refreshed the Venue Pro lineup and added the 11 Pro 7000 Series, which continues to rely on a digitizer from Synaptics, the company took the opportunity to roll out its latest Active Stylus model (750 AAHC).

The new pen has already arrived into the wild and has been put to the test, and if you check towards the end of this article, you’ll find a video where the abilities of the new Styluses are demonstrated.

The new Dell Active Stylus has been completely redeveloped and not just revised, so the good news is that it finally works much better than previous editions.

The newcomers arrive in black and silver and are packed in a white box. As you can see in the video the new Active Styluses work quite well, as pressure sensitivity is said to have been increased.

If you have any experience with the new Dell Active Stylus, you can share your impressions in the comment sections below and tell us how the new technology accommodates to your needs.

For those arriving late to the party, we’ll remind you that Dell has just refreshed its tablet lineup by launching the Venue 11 Pro 7000 Series.

The device comes with a 10.8-inch OLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, like the older models. But now you’ll find an Intel Core M processor under the hood, clocked at 2.0GHz and fitted with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card).

The slate runs on the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 or 8.1 Pro and takes advantage of a micro HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

Apart from the optional stylus, Dell offers the option of picking up a keyboard companion for the tablet, if this is something that might suit your needs.
