The Electronic Entertainment Expo wasn't the site only for new game and hardware announcements, as Guinness World Records was also present at the convention and awarded the latest record-breakers in the industry. During the three-day event, Gaz Deaves, the editor of the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition, officially honored the best achievements of entertainment software companies and of the gamers who played their products.

EA Sports was one of the biggest winners. The publisher/developer received no more than three awards for the Best Selling Soccer Video Game Franchise with FIFA, which had sold over 68 million copies, the Earliest Console Sports Massively Multiplayer Online Game with NHL 09, and for the Longest Running Sports Game Franchise with Madden NFL.

Microsoft also had something to celebrate for, as it was honored with the Best-Selling High-Definition Video Game Console award for the Xbox 360, which managed to move over 40 million units until March 2010. Sony wasn't left behind, as Little Big Planet got the Most User-Generated Levels award, with the quite staggering number of 2,464,073 levels created by players. Furthermore, Uncharted 2 was declared the Best Selling PlayStation 3 platform game and MAG was recognized to have had the Most Players in a Console First Person Shooter.

SEGA also earned two records, with Valkyria Chronicles being the Most Critically Acclaimed Strategy Role Playing Game for the PlayStation 3 and Virtual Fighter being the First Fighter to Use 3D Polygon Graphics. E3 was also the place for new records to be set, as Danny and Scott Johnson achieved new individual high-scores on Guitar Hero 5 Guitar and Drums. The two brothers also managed to get the Highest Co-op Score on Drums and Guitar for Guitar Hero 5, an incredible 4,442,161 points. The Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition is available now for 15 dollars for those who want to see what other crazy records players have set.
