For those situations where a a wall works better than an actual, solid display, there are such things as projectors, something that Runco specializes in, though it looks like it only now managed to experiment with the segments of the market below the high end.

If there is anything that current-generation projectors can be described as is expensive, especially compared to actual displays.

While LCDs, LED-equipped or not, actually can sell for very modest amounts, projectors go well within the multi-thousand dollar territory.

Not long ago, for example (at the start of this very month in fact, August 1), Panasonic came forward and unveiled a Full HD, 3D-capable model that will debut in September, for $3,499.00.

Now, Runco has taken its turn at unveiling a product of its own, one dubbed LS-1, part of the LightStyle Series DLP line, though it still requires higher funds ($3,995). Availability is slated for August 16.

"Runco's LightStyle Series allows us to deliver Runco performance to a new group of clients," said Brian Hudkins, president of Gramophone LTD.

"The beauty of the LightStyle Series is that we have been able reach a larger customer base due to its affordability, without sacrificing performance OR reliability as these projectors meet the high quality standards of Runco."

It is a single-chip product with the ability to convey images in Full HD quality (1,080p) and with a brightness of 10,000:1.

Runco also threw in the advantages of a calibration system that can remember day and night settings, plus an optional CineGlide anamorphic lens.

"With the introduction of the LS-1, we are able to bring the renowned Runco performance to a broader group of video enthusiasts," said Jennifer Davis, VP of Marketing at Runco.

"Being able to hit this competitive price point enables our integrators more opportunities to sell to a large, previously-untapped market and for homeowners to enjoy the benefits owning a Runco brings."
