It appears that A-Data has once again stepped into the spotlight in order to deliver what can be seen as one of the most diminutive flash drive units so far unveiled, the S101.

The S in the S101 likely stands for the Superior series, of which the newcomer is part.

According to A-Data's press release, the S010 came to be after the company spent some time 'listening attentively to the voice of the market.”

“ADATA pays attention to the voice of consumers, providing subtly elegant design and quality at an affordable price. Now everyone can enjoy trendiness and a touch of extravagance without breaking the bank,” says the company in a press release.

Basically, the S101 is a very small flash drive unit that strives to merge both aesthetics and affordability while still delivering a high storage space.

“High quality black leather exterior with a unique and comfortable toothed texture allows you to manifest your personal sense of elegance, at a price the stays true to your sense of moderation,” states the press release.

The storage capacity side of things is ensured by NAND Flash chips that can total 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB or 32 GB.

The aesthetics are brought to the equation by a fine-grade black leather surface, which mostly makes it mirror the looks of wallets or purses.

Additionally, compactness is delivered by the COB (Chip On Board) technology and the slid-out USB 2.0/1.1 connector design.

'The design of the S101 eliminates unnecessary design elements, resulting in a simple look with a sleek, curved exterior that matches the handy sliding connector function. The one piece strap hole provides easy portability, significantly reducing the risk of loss,” the press announcement explains.

All in all, the A-Data S101 measures 33.5 x 16.5 x 6.5 mm and weighs 4 grams while being sold with a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, no prices have been revealed yet.
