Electronic Arts has announced a host of new features for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. The biggest of these are the EA Sports Live Tournaments, which are set to allow players to compete against one another in sanctioned competitions and even to go up against professional golfers. This new mode will be offered to those who will play Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

EA Sports Live Tournaments comes in three flavors. There are daily tournaments, where you have to shot 18 holes and can compare your score on leaderboards. There are weekly tournaments, where you play for four days out of a week and also compare scores with other players.

And there are the Pro Tournaments, which are set to be special events taking place during real life Pro tours. They will see the players compare their scores with those of the ones registered by real life Pro players.

In addition to the EA Sports Live Tournaments, the new game in the Tiger Woods series should also introduce two new golfers, Anthony Kim and Rocco Mediate, appearing in the franchise for the first time. They will join other available players like Luke Donald, Jim Furyk, Natalie Gulbis, Rory McIlroy, Vijay Singh and, of course, Tiger Woods.

The Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 version of the game also get six new courses: Bethpage Black, where the 2009 United States Open was held, Hazeltine, Oakmont, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines and Turnberry. The Nintendo Wii is getting a different list of courses, with Banff Springs, Bethpage Black, Hazeltine, Oakmont, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines and Turnberry appearing.

Those who pick up the game for the PS3 or the Xbox 360 will also receive the option of getting into a Practice Round, which allows players to actually walk through the course and attempt shots from all positions before going into an actual tournament.
