Microsoft has been pushing its search / decision engine forward one step at a time, with the company introducing a range of Feature Updates designed to expand the functionality which end users can take advantage of. The promise from the software giant is that the latest Bing refresh will put customers in the driver’s seat, especially if they’re searching for car information.

Bing is now capable of delivering what Microsoft calls enhanced auto results after the introduction of the latest Feature Update for the decision engine.

The Bing team even put together a video highlighting the new capabilities introduced when it comes down to searching for auto information.

“Now you can search for your favorite car and Bing will assemble all of the important information (price, Fuel Economy, user rating, listings in your area) as well as quick links to additional information right within the search result,” a member of the Bing team stated.

“Simply enter in the make and model and Bing autos will pull together everything you need to research in one place. You use the filters in the left rail to narrow down your search by model, price, year or comparable vehicle.”

Especially when buying a new car, customers need to assess a complex set of data about the vehicle, some of which is not that easy to come by.

Now Bing makes sure that the necessary information is all centralized in the Bing result page, as opposite to having the user jump from one website to another in an effort to find all the bits and pieces of info required to decide on whether to purchase a car or not.

The auto result refresh is the third feature update introduced to Bing in 2011, with the previous two dealing with making it easier for users to search for TV show information and to buy tickets to sporting events.
