Still, no word on any other platform getting the popular RPG

Fallout 3 is a Bethesda Softworks RPG title using a real-time combat system with optional pauses, similar to the Infinity Engine games developed by the same company. The apocalyptic title isn't sure yet to hit many platforms (the PC is the best option for the developers known best for The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion). Recently however, the first concrete details of Bethesda's Fallout 3 have been revealed, in the latest issue of Game Informer.

Fallout 3 was initially under development by Black Isle Studios (owned by Interplay Entertainment) under the codename Van Buren. Sadly, Interplay Entertainment went bankrupt fast and closed down Black Isle Studios before the game could be completed, so Fallout 3 was sold for a $1,175,000 minimum guaranteed advance against royalties to Bethesda Softworks.

So, as Joystiq posts, this is what Fallout 3 will present gamers with, in terms of remnant features from previous Fallout titles, as revealed by the latest issue of Game Informer:

"The Karma system! Bethesda is touting 9 to 12 different endings based on your actions in the game. The ability to sneak and talk your way through the game. Maybe we can still talk the final boss into self-destructing. Turn-based combat is possible using Vault-tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.), although once your action points are used up, you will revert to real-time combat until they charge up again. Radiation poisoning. As indicated from the trailer, Ron Perlman"

Still, as the teaser trailer I've posted below for you shows, Bethesda's Fallout 3 could easily pass for a 360 title too, given the fact that they don't try to improve visuals even more. The title is fairly popular and was a hit when the first installment was released. As you may have imagined, if a teaser trailer is everything they could come up with until now, a release isn't due soon. The developer confirmed that it will be sometime in the fall of 2008.
