14 DAY TRIAL // The team at Paradox Development Studios is announcing that the eight expansion that they will launch for Crusader Kings II is called Horse Lords and will focus on the powerful archer-based nomads from Asia that threaten the fortified areas of Europe.
The official announcement explains, "The nomadic invasions of the Mongol and Turkic steppe tribes transformed the history of Europe, the Near East and much of Asia. Genghiz Khan built the largest contiguous land empire the world has ever seen. And now Paradox Development Studios brings you the clan politics, the mighty hordes and the migratory push for new lands that will bring this exciting and vibrant culture to life."
The Horse Lords expansion for Crusader Kings II is set to introduce an entirely new system of government for nomads, which will be separate from the tribal one.
It will allow gamers to create powerful empires and secure the future of their dynasties without having to worry about developing their lands or about the state of their settlements.
Feuds, blood oaths, conflicts over who is the dominant clan and more will be enabled in the expansion in order to offer a gameplay experience that's as close as possible to the historical realities of the era.
The nomads will also have the option to raise powerful and large armies that focus on horsemen and archers, with entire population able to move at once to crush the armies that resist them.
The Central Asian provinces have also been expanded, and the Silk Road is now a powerful trading area in the game.
Crusader Kings II will also get other improvements
Just because the focus of the Horse Lords expansion is on nomads and their powerful armies and conflicts, it does not mean Europe itself is not getting any changes.
Gamers will be able to use a new map mode in Crusader Kings II to better plan their strategies, and there are regions added to the map.
Each province can now support forts, in order to deal with the new and powerful military threats that families need to face.
Paradox has not announced that entire content for the patch that will accompany the launch of the Horse Lords expansion.
At the moment, no official date for release has been mentioned.
