The proverbial long arm of the law is tightening the noose around Justin Bieber as we speak. Up until today, it's been widely considered that the police didn't have enough evidence to convict the Canadian singer of felony vandalism for throwing eggs at his neighbor's house back at the beginning of the year.

Today, TMZ has obtained some official police documents in which a detective describes the footage that was retrieved from Justin Bieber's security cameras, and it seems that the evidence is a little more than circumstantial and the police have enough to continue their investigation.

According to an affidavit signed by the detective handling the case, Ginni Alvarez, who we're told has been working with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for the last 9 years, Justin Bieber can be seen at the time of the egg attack exhibiting some suspect behavior.

The pop star was filmed outside his home, with several other male friends, hiding out behind cars and peeking out in the direction of the neighbor's house, as if wanting to maintain a visual on the residence. The detective describes their behavior as celebratory and claims that Bieber is “high-fiving” everyone, as if he's just pulled off something.

Wanting to get a better ID on the suspect, the police asked the victim to describe Bieber's clothes and they claim that the description fits perfectly with that the singer was wearing on footage at the alleged time of the attack.

The ongoing investigation is still murky at this point, as police are trying to determine which way they want to follow up on this case. They will either charge Justin with a misdemeanor or felony vandalism charge, but they could very well drop the case if they consider that the evidence won't hold up in court.

While the police have been very thorough in their investigation and willing to throw the book at the singer, the D.A.'s office didn't show the same enthusiasm and wanted to let the crooner off with just a slap on the wrist.

Only time will tell if Justin will add one more conviction to his rap sheet, but his egg attack is certainly not the only thing he has to worry about. Though at the moment he's enjoying his time in Japan where he's vacationing with his mother, Bieber still has a pending lawsuit for his DUI arrest in Miami.
