It would really seem that the trend of combining a digital photo frame with a photo printer is becoming more and more popular these days, since Epson has recently rolled exactly such a product, namely the PictureMate Show model. The device comes equipped with a 7-inch, 800 x 480 dpi, 16:9 WVGA tilt screen to display, print, edit and store photos, as well as a built-in printer capable of producing 4" x 6" photos in as fast as 37 seconds. The printer offers 12 slideshow options for added versatility, allowing users to choose from book, calendar, clock or museum options for the home office or animated slideshow options for the kids' room, while in the same time providing fast and easy access to all commands (whether we're talking about printing and editing images or running a slideshow) with the fully functional remote control. The device also lets users store photos to print or display any time within its 270MB internal memory, while in the same time providing plenty of connectivity options, including USB, Bluetooth, PictBridge and a memory card reader supporting the CompactFlash (Type I and II), Secure Digital (SD), SDHC, MMC, Memory Stick, Microdrive and xD-Picture Card (Type M/H) memory card formats. The printing function is quite close to its professional-grade counterparts, delivering 5760 x 1440 dpi quality and allowing for print custom sizes from 0.3" x 0.3" to 4" x 6", in black-and-white or sepia, mini-wallet, wallet, classic borders or borderless. Additionally, before actually moving forward with the printing process, users can carry out some slight photo editing actions, such as Auto Photo Correction, crop, remove red eye and more. The Epson PictureMate Show digital photo frame combo sells for around 200 US dollars, which is a more or less OK price point, given the features this thing can provide.
