The New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts, is now home to a baby fur seal by the name Chiidax. The seal pup was sent to this facility all the way from the Alaska SeaLife Center, and traveled by FedEx cargo.

The seal pup is an orphan. It was discovered some time ago inside a box placed in front of the Alaska Fish & Game office on the Aleutian Island of Sand Point, Zoo Borns reports. A note saying that the baby seal's mom had died while giving birth to it was also found inside the box.

The seal pup spent its first few months of life at the Alaska SeaLife Center. Since Chiidax is hand-raised, staff at the facility decided that, instead of releasing it back into the wild, it would be a better idea to send him to the New England Aquarium where it could be entered in a breeding program.

Should things go as planned, the seal pup will make its debut at the New England Aquarium this coming January. Until then, it will get to meet its designated playmate, a female by the name Kit.
