Mass Effect was one of 2007's most popular Xbox 360 titles, and, when it was launched for the PC last year, gained an even bigger fan base. That is why when BioWare finally decided to pull the covers off of Mass Effect 2, the interest was very big, as a lot of people wanted to see what would happen next with the main character, Commander Shepard.

After a rather disturbing teaser trailer that showed a very bad faith for the leading character, the news that the sequel would delve even deeper into the story made a lot of people even more curios about the particulars of the future game that was dated for an early 2010 release.

Now, it seems that the new details have been leaked thanks to the pre-order page that online retailer Amazon has opened for the game. Here is what it says: “The second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy takes you to the darkest reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of humans across many worlds. Prepare yourself for a suicide mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy territory.”

While the main character hasn't been disclosed, it looks like new and exciting adventures await the players in this second part of a trilogy of titles, as BioWare has revealed. A lot of people have already started speculating on the fact that the main antagonists will be the Geth alien race, but, until something official surfaces, these are only suppositions.
