One would think that, after all this time, makers of PC cases wouldn't have such an easy time of creating new enclosures or the like, but it looks like there is still much combination of old and new that can be done, Lian Li's newest models being just the latest examples.

Computer cases definitely don't get any new generation of functionality or such things, since they aren't CPUs or GPUs that get better each year.

In fact, the purpose of PC cases hasn't changed and, with motherboard and other hardware being standardized to certain form factors, neither has their overall shape.

Granted, there are several form factors, like tower, mid tower, SFF, etc., but, in the end, all that their makers can change about them is th design and, perhaps, the internal layout, to some extant.

Still, the fact that consumers favor the new is one reason why new cases come out all the time.

Lian Li, thus, just presented a trio of gaming enclosures, although they definitely have far fewer design embellishments than other, top-grade products.

The PC-P80, as the biggest and baddest (full tower), measures 220 (W) x 633 (H) x 610 (D) mm and, can house everything up to HPTX and E-ATX motherboards.

Besides the two 2.5-inch, ten 3.5-inch and three 5.25-inch bays, it boasts six fans and a top I/O panel with eSATA and four USB 3.0 ports.

Secondly, the PC-Z70, also a Full Tower (220 x 600 x 592 mm), has nine 3.5-inch bays, two 2.5-inch trays, six internal fans, the same motherboard support as above and an I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.1 and eSATA, plus audio jacks.

Finally, the 210 (W) x 472 (HD) x 480 (D) mm mid-tower PC-Z60 shares the same I/O capabilities as the PC-Z70 but only supports ATX, micro ATX and mini-ITX platforms and has three 5.25-inch bays, two 2.5-inch ones and four fans.

Lian Li made sure that watercooling holes are present, along with tool-free drive, PSU and PCI card mounting mechanisms for all three newcomers.

The PC-Z60, PC-Z70 and PC-P80N are priced at $269, $389 and $489, respectively, and may have black or silver coating.
