A new power supply has been launched by Corsair, one that would have probably been invisible in the great shadow cast by the Cherry MX RGB keyboard if not for the wattage.

Called Corsair AX1500i, the PSU has an output of 1,500 W, which was kind of given away by the name alone.

What the name doesn't hint at is the 94% efficiency at 50% load and the presence of eight PCI Express power connectors (for quad-GPU configuration, whether AMD CrossFireX or NVIDIA SLI).

Corsair also used 100% Japanese capacitors, a low-noise 140 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan and real-time voltage regulation.

Finally, the Corsair AX1500i PSU is fully modular, which means that you choose what cables to install, no one else.

The PSU should start shipping in the second quarter for $499.99 / €499.99.
