Hybrid tablets are not common but neither are they unheard of, although a certain concept of this sort definitely wouldn't fit into the 'common' hybrid category if such a thing actually existed.

That the tablet market is only set to grow in sales is something that isn't really in doubt at the moment, although whether or not Android slates triumph in their quest to steal iPad market share remains to be seen.

In the meantime, notebooks and especially netbooks are losing ground, selling less and less, even though slates have no physical keyboards.

Of course, the existence of docks and wireless keyboard specifically designed for tablets have been counterbalancing this issue.

Still, some people still yearn for something capable of delivering the best of both worlds, and it falls to concept artists to come up with idea.

IT companies do make their own devices, but they usually stick to existing norms and guidelines, avoiding too much forward-thinking or striking ideas.

Not so with Anderson, whose product concept is of something that is both a tablet and a notebook at the same time.

Basically a tablet with a keyboard module, said module being hinged in such a way that one can set it in both portrait and landscape modes.

Overall, the product should be fairly small and compact, while still more than big enough to perform all things slates do nowadays.

Unfortunately, like so many other product concepts and previews, this new idea might end up never leaving the blueprint stage. Still, if anything, it might at least give those companies that do build such things some ideas as to where to go from here.

Until then, users can go searching through stores and buy the likes of the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 or other tablets that are selling and battling the Apple iPad.
