The Google Chrome Dev and Beta channels have been promoted to version 12.0.733.0 and 11.0.696.43 respectively, with stability and UI tweaks, as well as multiple code corrections, Google software engineers have confirmed.

Google’s Jason Kersey blogs that “the Chrome Dev channel has been updated to 12.0.733.0 for all platforms,” a release that incorporates “updates focused on stability and UI tweaks.”

Kersey directs users to the SVN revision log for the full list of changes, while those who encounter issues with the open source web browser are highly encouraged to use the bug reporter.

Elsewhere on Google’s domain, “The Beta channel has been updated to 11.0.696.43 for Macintosh, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame platforms,” writes Karen Grunberg.

The Google staffer outlines some of the fixed bugs in this new Beta release, none of which seems to be platform specific.

For example, a passwords sync bug causing the function to commit after every browser restart has been dealt with not only on Windows and Linux installments of the program, but on the Mac version as well.

Google also fixed an error causing Autofill to misbehave when it should have done the simple task of filling out forms automatically.

Among the many bug fixes, Grunberg mentions that Silverlight has been updated to v3 version metadata.

Other bug fixes pertaining to the new Beta release are listed as follows:

- Redirect to my site without CFInstall.js - Blocked plug-in dialog: make sure "Run this time" button is the first one - Policy: Proxy configuration over policy does not work. - Editing style adds the word "initial" for any property value that uses a parent - Google Chrome Helper doesn't quit, killing it relaunches a new helper process - A few known crashes.
