At the Fall Processor Forum, a new chip producer has surfaced the processor manufacturing scene and it looks like its products could be included in a wide variety of devices, ranging from cars to game consoles and very powerful computers.

P.A. Semi Inc. is trying to surprise everybody with its new processors, which promise to offer great performances in processing, but also to have a very small energy consumption level and to heat less than products already available from AMD and Intel. P.A. Semi Inc. promises that the power consumption level of these new semiconductors will be ten times lower than that of the competition.

However, to prove these promises right, users will have to wait a few more years, as these products will not reach the market sooner than 2007. It usually takes producers about four years to design, produce and test a new processor, and P.A. Semi Inc has started working on these chips only two years ago.

The low energy consumption and the lack of heat issues make these products already very appealing to systems integrators, but also to producers of all sorts of digital devices. The reason behind these significant power saving is that components are more tightly integrated and smarter about turning off when not in use.
