It would seem that any and all IT companies are eagerly releasing new products, and PQI has just made an announcement of its own, one that consists of the revelation that its portfolio now includes a new memory card reader.

Memory card readers are, one might say, an arguably peculiar type of PC accessory.

Nowadays, practically every laptop on sale has such a component, each with a different number of supported card formats.

However, only a fraction of those notebooks end up in the hands of owners who frequently make use of the accessory.

That said, desktop PCs seldom really come with a card reader by default, if at all, meaning that, should one wish for card reading functionality, they will have to acquire a device of that sort separately.

For customers that often have to copy photos and videos, or other files, from the cards used by their cameras and such, PQI has created the Ninja S725.

The Ninja S725 is, obviously, a card reader, one that is particularly small, its exact size being of 34.2 x 21 x 9 mm.

The supported cards can have capacities of up to 32 GB and can be of the microSD and microSDHC varieties.

Finally, the PQI Ninja S725 has a built-in cap that hides an USB 2.0 port (backwards compatible with USB 1.1 of course) and a weight of only 4.8 grams.

“This model features a slim, flowing exterior shape accompanied by a unique structural design,” says the press release.

“The front-end serves as the USB transfer interface, and when the micro SDHC/SD memory card is inserted in the back-end slot, it can provide a normal card reader data transmission functional.”

PQI did say the product would be backed by a two-year warranty, but an actual price was not provided.
