The cooler builds upon the NH-C12P and supports additional sockets

As it is usually the case with highly popular products, Noctua's signature cooler, the popular NH-C12P, saw itself taking on a new form known as the NH-C12P SE14, a mechanism set to become the company's next flagship product. The cooler builds upon the highly successful design of its previous incarnation, but is more versatile and optimized in ways that make it superior to the highly acclaimed product.

More specifically, the NH-C12P SE14 uses a high-quality 140mm fan, which is optimized for a quiet but powerful airflow. The fan achieves the quietness thanks to the Vortex-Control notches that confer aerodynamic efficiency. This fan, which is larger than most regular ones, even those meant for computer cases (which usually measure 120mm), combines the airflow-optimized design with two Airflow-Gaps in order to not only keep the CPU's temperature in check, but also that of the motherboard components located near it.

"Ever since its introduction last year, our NH-C12P has been a very popular choice among customers who seek excellent cooling performance close to our signature NH-U12P series at much lower height," Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO, says. "More than 100 awards and recommendations from the international press are a testimony to the NH-C12P's broad appeal, so we've decided to issue a special edition that adds compatibility with the latest Intel sockets and further improves the cooler's renowned cooling efficiency by using our new NF-P14 fan."

The fan may spin at top speeds of 1200 RPM (airflow of 110,3 m³/h), but may come bundled with a Low-Noise Adapter (L.N.A.) or an Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptor (U.L.N.A.). Depending on the setup, the rotary speeds drop to 900 RPM with L.N.A. and to only 750 RPM with U.L.N.A, while the airflow is reduced to 83,7 m³/h and 71,2 m³/h, respectively.

The SecuFirm multi-socket mounting system gives this new version of the NH-C12P compatibility with the LGA1156 and LGA1366 sockets, making it compatible with Intel's latest Core i7 and Core i5 chips. The cooler also works with LGA775, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 sockets and comes bundled with Noctua's own pro-grade NT-H1 thermal compound. The product has a minor estimated time before failure of 150,000 h and comes with a six-year warranty.

The 114mm-high cooling module has an estimated price of 59.90 Euro (US$69.90) and more information may be found on Noctua's official site.
