Even though it has been announced a few months ago by RIM, the Blackberry 6.0 operating system hasn't been included on any of the company's smartphones yet. The Canadian manufacturer released two videos that demonstrate some of the 6.0 OS's new features. The new operating system is due for launch this summer together with some new Blackberry smartphones that haven't been announced yet.

Shown for the first time in a demo video posted by RIM at this year's WES event, Blackberry 6.0 OS seems to offer plenty of new features, but also a reshaped design. Some of the new features already demonstrated in the first teaser are now appearing in the second video too: new web browser, multi-touch support (pinch and zoom) and re-skinned user interface, as well as new homescreen, pop-up menus, fluid transitions.

Still, there are some new features shown in the second video, that are meant to raise the device's functionality and thumbability: swipe gesture support in the home screen and media player, new context sensitive menus appearing on screen, universal search, brand new BlackBerry Messenger application, new social media networking services that can be used simultaneously.

An important part of the video demonstrates the new WebKit-based browser, which cannot be compared to BlackBerry's old browser. The WebKit browser features RSS news feed support and is HTML5 capable. The messaging capabilities of the new operating system have been improved and totally redesigned to offer a better management of the messages/email. Integration of messaging with various social networking services has also been included and can be seen in the video.

Watch below the latest video posted by RIM, that demonstrates new features included, as well as the new redesigned graphical user interface of its Blackberry 6.0 OS.
