A batch of new details about Batman: Arkham City has appeared, including how the Caped Crusader will travel around the game world, how he will interact with the Calendar Man or how he'll access side quests and missions throughout the campaign.

Batman: Arkham City is one of the most anticipated games of the year, at least for comic book fans who eagerly await Rocksteady Studios' follow-up to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum.

We already know quite a few details about the game and how it'll have just a single-player campaign that will take Batman into Arkham City, a section of the larger Gotham location which is under the control of Dr. Hugo Strange, with districts run by the main villains in the comic book series, including the Joker or Two-Face.

Batman will have his trusty gadgets at his side, including a grappling hook, cryptographic sequencer, Bat Claw, remote-controlled Batarang and more, right when the game starts.

These gadgets are available from the get-go as the world of Arkham City doesn't limit the player, allowing him to visit any of the districts at the beginning, so he must be well equipped to handle the array of enemies and challenges.

Batman will get around Arkham City by using the combination of his Bat Claw and his trusty cape. He'll be able to grapple on top of buildings and billboards, and then glide to other locations from there.

What's more, he'll also be able to latch onto patrol helicopters that will take him around the city. From here, he can spot any side-quests and missions, including special "Person in Distress" messages, as well as Riddler trophies or other such challenges.

The combat is more brutal this time around, and Batman can use even more moves to dispatch of bad guys through the streets of Arkham City.

Easter eggs and other special surprises will also be included in the game, including some special encounters with Calendar Man, who, if visited on certain holidays, like St. Patrick's Day, will tell Batman all about some of the crimes he committed on that day.

Overall Batman: Arkham City seems to be a great addition to the franchise, so expect even more reveals at this week's Game Developers Conference.
