Adobe has released Flash Player 10.3 for Mac OS X, a beta update which introduces new developer features and enhanced user privacy protection, such as Media Measurement, Acoustic Echo Cancellation, integration with browser privacy control for local storage, a native Control Panel, and last, but not least, an Auto-Update Notification system for Mac OS X.

According to the company whose business is not very appreciated in Cupertino, California, Flash Player 10.3 is basically tasked with enhancing user privacy protection, and also has a great focus on some new developer features.

For example, developers will get Media Measurement and Acoustic Echo Cancellation, which make measuring video much easier, and enhance telephony, in-game voice chat, and group conferencing applications, respectively.

The integration with browser privacy control for local storage, Native Control Panel, and Auto-Update Notification for Mac OS X are touted as enhancements for the end user.

“Flash Player 10.3 supports automatic notification of software updates on Mac OS, making it easier for Mac users to stay current with new capabilities in the latest version of Flash Player,” Adobe explains.

With the new release, users can now clear local storage from the browser settings interface much easier thanks to integrated control of local storage with the browser’s privacy settings in Firefox 4, IE 8, “and future releases of Apple Safari and Google Chrome,” according to Adobe.

Adobe also recently launched Wallaby, a tool used to convert Adobe Flash FLA files into HTML to have them running optimally on iOS  devices.

Available as a free Mac application, Wallaby allows developers to simply drag and drop their Flash content into a window and have the code instantly converted to HTML5.

While there are other uses to the app, Adobe itself said that “Wallaby's primary design goals were to get the best quality and performance on browsers within iOS devices.”
