Those who spend considerable amounts of time on Facebook are well aware of the fact that pictures of neglected animals tend to pour in on a daily basis.

The good news is that people who wish to lend a helping hand to those animals that find themselves in need can now do so by spending some quality time on a new Facebook app: Joy Kingdom.

Launched by Sojo Studios, this game allows individuals to virtually grow crops and engage in other similar farming activities. What they will get in return for their efforts is “joy.”

Based on the amounts of “joy” they collect, Facebook fanatics can send various sums of money to a green-oriented organization of their choice.

Sources explain that this is because Joy Kingdom agreed to donate half of the profit it makes from in-game purchases and advertising to groups who are in the business of looking after abused and neglected animals.

Apparently, Ellen Degeneres quite enjoys playing “Joy Kingdom,” and has recently made a case of how, “I've always said I like speaking for animals, because they can't speak for themselves. And now I'm going on Facebook for them, because my cat can never remember her password.”
