There was a lot of speculation but mostly mystery regarding the new material from rapper Ice Cube. Now, the gritty performer is coming out with some information that is sure to get his fans hyped. He announced that the release date for his new album was going to be May 13.

The announcement was made in his Twitter account, where he also mentions the name of his latest studio effort “Everythang's Corrupt.” This album comes three years after his 2010 “I Am the West” which peaked at number 22 on the Billboard chart.

The only other things known about Cube's latest album are that it features the title track with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello. It's supposed to be a song with clear rock influences that is set to be released ahead of the album.

Cube was careful to warn fans that they shouldn't be fooled by the title into thinking it's all about politics on “Everythang's Corrupt.” The rapper-turned-actor said in an interview that “It's not a heavily political record, but it does have statement songs and rhymes. I got a song called ‘Dominate the Weak’, which is just showing you how a police state would look and feel.”
