There are two new Acer monitors gearing up for availability in Japan, and probably the rest of the world too, eventually.

They are part of the G Series and are called G225HQLAbmid and G225HQLAbd. They will start selling by the end of next month (May, 2012).

The screen diagonal measures 21.5 inches and the panels are both of the TN type, with a glossy sheen and a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

The G225HQLAbmid can link to PCs via HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub, while G225HQLAbd lacks HDMI.

Another thing the latter does without is speakers. The former has built-in, 2W ones.

Other perks shared by the duo include 1,000:1 contrast ratio, Acer Crystal Brite technology, up to 100 million colors reproduction and the ability to run in Eco Mode.
