ASUS has once again expanded its Eee product portfolio with the addition of the highly anticipated touchscreen T91 and T101H. Both systems have been designed to provide some new features in the world of netbook computers, offering users a choice for an Atom-powered tablet PC with touchscreen capabilities. Expected to be showcased at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the two Eee PCs have been built to provide 8.9-inch and 10-inch displays, as most of the other netbooks on the market.

On the technical specification side, the new T91 comes with an 8.9-inch LED-backlit touchscreen display. It is expected to boast the computing power of Intel's Atom Z520 processor and will become available with both a GPS and TV tuner, raising the stakes a bit, when compared to other netbooks currently available on the market. The Eee PC T91 measures 225mm x 164mm x 25.2 - 28.4mm and weighs 2.2 pounds, and it will be running on Microsoft's Windows XP Home SP3 operating system.

According to the details provided by pcmag, the T91 will be featured with 1GB of memory and will be using both a traditional hard disk drive and a Flash-based solid state drive. The solution will total the storage capacity of the netbook to 52GB.

“This new generation of netbooks actually is a multi-touch network,” said ASUS Chief Executive and Chairman Jonney Shih. “It's the superset of the original tablet PC.”

There are only a few details on the larger T101H, but, according to early expectations, the system should pack a similar configuration. Unlike the T91, the T101H has been designed as a 10-inch solution, offering Internet capabilities and touchscreen functionality.

ASUS' new Eee PC systems will further expand the company's already vast netbook lineup, most of which is part of the Eee family.
