iBUYPOWER, a high-performance PC vendor, has just announced a new addition to its line of high-end desktop rigs, with the introduction of the GameFire 600 desktop PC, designed to provide gaming users with a new AMD-based rig that has the performance potential delivered by the latest computer hardware components. The system is based on the latest socket AM3 platform, which means that users will be able to take advantage of a Phenom II processor combined with DDR3 memory for a higher level of performance. In addition, according to the company, the system's configuration allows for a high-performance configuration for a relatively affordable price tag.

“We take pride in our ability to always be among the first system builders to incorporate new technology in our machines,” said Darren Su, vice president of iBUYPOWER. “It’s that agility that is allowing us to already be offering systems featuring the AM3 platform, and sharing its unparalleled 3D graphics capabilities with gamers everywhere.”

The Gamer Fire 600 is equipped with AMD's recently released Phenom II X4 810 quad-core processor, a Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P AMD 790X-based motherboard, 4GB of DDR3 memory and an ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB graphics card. In addition, the system also delivers a maximum of 500GB of storage space on a SATA II hard drive, a 2.1 channel stereo super bass subwoofer speaker system and the company's own 1600 dpi High Sensitivity Internet mouse.

Powered by a 600W PSU, the new GameFire 600 desktop PC has been designed for an optimum gaming experience at an affordable price point of $799. Other AM3-based systems on the company's website are available for configuration for as little as $499, giving gaming enthusiasts a choice for a high-end PC that is also affordable. The low price point of these AMD-based systems should turn them into a real choice for high-end users, especially given the current global economic status.
