EVGA makes several different things, like motherboards and graphics cards, but its collection of power supply units is more than decent too, especially on the high-end front where cost isn't an issue.

It just so happens that a power supply unit (PSU) is precisely what the company released just a short while ago.

Even among high-end PSUs, the new model is particularly well endowed, in more or less every possible way.

Clearly, EVGA spared no expense. Since top-end hardware components are only bought by people with no money concerns, there was no need to strike price-performance-efficiency balance.

The only thing that didn't make it was 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, never mind Titanium. EVGA was content with 80 Plus Gold (up to 90% efficiency under typical loads).

“EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 power supply is the best choice to power this and next generation enthusiast computers,” the company writes in its press release.

The 1000 in the name is there for the 1000W output that the newcomer can churn out on good days, which means all days.

EVGA is so sure of the performance (owed to a vertical double layer main transformer) and longevity, even stability of the SuperNOVA 1000 G2 that it sells it with first-class 10-Year Warranty.

It doesn't hurt that it is also modular, meaning that no cables actually stick out from it. Instead, it has a connector panel where MOLEX, SATA, motherboard power cables and the rest of the wires can be plugged.

Other specs include highest quality Japanese Solid State Capacitors, a quiet 14CM Double Ball Bearing Fan, and a single +12V rail that delivers up to 83.3A.

The official product page has all the details, along with an extended image gallery, but no pricing and availability details have emerged as of yet. Retailers will have to expose them.
