Tablets are usually used for entertainment purposes, but have you ever wondered what other options are available out there?

Universal remote control technology provider, One For All has a possible answer to this question. The company has released the Nevo app that works in concert with a Wi-Fi bridge in order to transform your usual Android tablet (or iPad for that matter) into a fully functioning remote.

The bridge/Wi-Fi duo is capable of controlling a whole host of home devices via the Tablet Remote app installed on your slate. Nevo can control TVs, set-top boxes, audio devices, DVD players, Blu-ray players and streaming media boxes.

Note that if you own the Motorola Xoom 2 or Vizio VTAB1008, the Nevo App will work directly from the tablet; but if you have another model, you’ll be needing the Universal Electronics Wi-Fi connector.

Once installed on your slate, the Nevo App will allow users to control home entertainment system via intuitive on-screen remote. Devices can be switched on and off via a single button press or control volume levels.

The Nevo app can be downloaded via the Google Play store for free, but the Wi-Fi bridge will cost you £59 / $97 / €71.
