The development team at Cryptic and publisher Perfect World Entertainment are continuing to tease the upcoming Tyranny of Dragons expansion for their Neverwinter MMO with a new trailer which shows the new Scourge Warlock class in action and gives players a glimpse of the new content that they will be able to enjoy.

The new character will be introduced for free to all players on August 14 and opens up a range of new gameplay options.

He can use the new Curse mechanics, which allow him to limit the combat power of his enemies while making his own group more efficient with his vast array of shadowy spells.

The Scourge Warlock can also summon powerful Soul Puppets to attack his foes, dealing major damage to creatures that are not prepared to battle them.

The new character class in Neverwinter will not be easy to play, but the development team promises that those who master it will be able to play a big role in the MMO.

When the Tyranny of Dragons expansion arrives, all gamers who are exploring the world of Faerun will have to deal with the rising Cult of the Dragon and its insidious loyal subjects.

As the storyline expands, groups of players will find out more about their plans for the world of the game and they will finally be able to battle a number of actual dragons, powerful creatures that will test the skills of all the groups that aim to face them.

The development team at Cryptic says that the Season of Dragons will not stop with the launch of the Scourge Warlock and that details on new races and new regions will be revealed before the end of the year.

Neverwinter is an action role-playing MMO that aims to bring to life the complex world of the Dungeons & Dragons universe created by Wizards of the Coast, with an emphasis on lore and complex gameplay mechanics.

The title is entirely free-to-play and the development team has said that it plans to offer all future content for the title without asking for any sort of payment, but loyal players can support the game by using real world money to buy cosmetic enhancements for their characters.

Neverwinter has managed to develop a solid player base since it was launched more than one year ago, and Perfect World says that it has long-term plans to support the experience.
