Last updated several months ago, Neverwinter Nights 2 for Mac has just gotten a new patch delivering both fixes and changes to the game. The game is thus brought to version 1.12.1295. The patch (61.6 MB) is a free download for game owners.

In Neverwinter Nights 2, you must build a character that suits your style of play - good or evil, chaotic or lawful, with any number of skills, feats and professions. Therefore, you choose between lobbing fireballs and researching forgotten spells as a powerful Wizard, hacking a trail through legions of orcs as a Fighter armed only with a battle axe and your courage, or taking on the role of a Rogue that can slip into the shadows at a moment's notice. You must also choose your alignment, allies, companions, and how you want your character to develop. In the simplest terms possible, you "role-play the way you want."

Aspyr Media claims this Neverwinter Nights patch will bring several improvements and fixes to the previous versions of the game. It is an official update for Neverwinter Nights 2 which, just like each patch, contains all the fixes from the previous patches.

So here's what's new:

- Experience gains of zero will no longer show up in the chat log.

- Natural AC is now being properly applied to creatures.

- Use Magic Device checks, when casting from scrolls, will no longer override caster classes.

- Players will no longer see the fountain of question marks effect in the case of a missing visual effect.

- Fixed an issue where companions were replaced by familiars/animal companions during transitions.

Neverwinter Nights 2 players also reported an issue where losing points in Use Magic Device could cause items to be unequipped and replace other items in inventory, causing the replaced items to be destroyed. Luckily for them, this issue has also been addressed in the latest patch.
