It took the industry a while to come up with something like this

After seeing how many arguably useless accessories and gadgets companies make every month, one may be left wondering why something genuinely practical like the Perch wasn't invented sooner.

If anything, forgetting chargers in the power outlets of trains or public buildings has been going on for a longer time than most gadgets have been in existence.

Fortunately, LPS (Loss Prevention Systems) finally decided to make something that will offset this forgetfulness.

The “Perch” is a small accessory that attaches to a battery charger and sits between it and the wall socket.

It activates when a portable device is connected to the charger.

When the phone/tablet/laptop is disconnected (hours later), Perch produces an unobtrusive but nonetheless clear chirping sound.

That way people can never claim they weren't warned not to leave the charger plugged in, only to forget it there when leaving for whatever shores they seek.

“Forgotten chargers are the ‘Achilles heel’ of the mobile, electronic world we live in. At the speed of life today, we simply can’t afford to be ‘electronically handicapped’ by a forgotten charger,” said Perch Inventor Brian Tedesco.
