A discount code that will allow our readers to cut the retail price of the book by as much as 50% is available exclusively via Softpedia.

Judging by the quality of the content on 7 Tutorials, a project coordinated by author Ciprian Adrian Rusen, “Network Your Computers & Devices Step by Step” is a must have resource for users that want to make the best out of Windows 7’s built-in networking features.

Rusen was kind enough to answer a few of my questions and also to make sure that you’ll get the best deal when buying “Network Your Computers & Devices Step by Step.” Make sure to read the interview below, and you’re bound to come across the discount code.

1. Please tell Softpedia readers a little bit about yourself. There’s a lot to say and very little, at the same time. I’ll go for the short version though. I consider myself a Corporate Geek, passionate about technology, project management, communication and “old-school” rock music (e.g. Pink Floyd, Rush, etc.).

I dream a lot and I really enjoy doing my best to pursue whatever important dreams I have. So far, I’ve learned that anyone can have an impact on how the world works. Therefore I am always anxious to see how my dreams and actions change the world around me. Sometimes I get some really pleasant & surprising results.

2. Project manager, blogger and published author - where did it all start for you? How did “Network Your Computers & Devices Step by Step” came to be? If I look back to my evolution so far, there’s one true constant: the passion for technology. It all started in the early 90’s, when my father borrowed from friend, a Romanian HC 91 (Home Computer) computer. I got the chance to use it for a few days and I was hooked. At that point I knew what my true passion is and I followed it ever since.

The book is a result of my blogging experience for the last 4 years. When I launched the 7 Tutorials website, in July 2009, I dreamed of being able to transform it into something truly meaningful. A few weeks after the launch, I started asking myself: why not write a book? I’ve thought things through, chose the area I wanted to cover and planned my way to making it a reality.

Here is where my project management experience helped a lot. I broke everything down into small pieces of content, made lots of experiments and tests on my own home network and blogged on the website. I received our reader’s input, improved the content and then centralized everything into a big document which looked like a book… sort of.

I shared it with O’Reilly Media and they loved the concept. Of course, I went back to rewrite a lot of the content and, a few months later, “Network Your Computers & Devices Step by Step” was printed by the prestigious Microsoft Press division of O’Reilly Media.

3. What’s the intended audience for “Network Your Computers & Devices Step by Step?” The target audience is everyday people, which have more than one computer in their home. The book aims to help everybody build, configure and maintain their own home network. Everything is structured in simple step-by-step exercises, with complete screenshots which don’t miss any of the important details.

4. Can you give us a little taste of what the book has to offer? The book focuses mostly on Windows 7 and covers in detail all the networking tools and features included in this operating system.

What separates the book apart from others is the fact that it covers extensively also the network interoperability between Windows 7 and all other major operating systems: Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Mac OS X v10.6 (Snow Leopard) and Ubuntu Linux v10.10 (Maverick Meerkat).

By reading the book you will learn all you need to know about how to make these operating systems work together on your home network.
