After introducing a 1,300 Mbps Wirless Router (and sidekick, of sorts), Netgear is launching a more specialized wireless product: the NeoTV Pro.

Basically, it is a media player that does not need a physical connection to a monitor or HDTV in order to stream video or music (in surround sound) to it.

The content can come from a variety of online sources, including, but not limited to, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube and Pandora.

Hardware-wise, NeoTV is built out of 300Mbps WiFi, Ethernet, optical out and HDMI, but Intel's WiDi technology should make sure that only the Wi-Fi or Ethernet is needed.

Furthermore, a special control app available for iOS and Android phones allows phones/tablets to play the part of remote control.

According to the press release, sales will begin soon, if they haven't already, for $69.99 / 55.56 Euro.
