Through a recent update that comes at no additional cost for the owners of Move it, Nero adds support for some of the most popular portable devices. T-Mobile G1, the BlackBerry smartphones, Apple iPhone 3G and the iPod multimedia players are only some of the gadgets that are now supported by Move it. More than that, Sony PlayStation Portable 3000 and Sony mylo Personal Communicator are also found on the list of compatible devices.

"With just a few clicks of the mouse, consumers can publish, sync, and enjoy their music, photos, and videos from their favorite devices such as iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry and PSP," declared Jurgen Kurz, COO, Nero AG.

Due to the latest Move it update, users of BlackBerry smartphones (T-Mobile BlackBerry 8800, BlackBerry 8100 and O2 BlackBerry Pearl 8120 in particular), are able to have multimedia content converted and transferred to the aforementioned devices with absolutely no effort. On the other hand, owners of many portable devices produced by Apple – namely iPod touch, iPod nano and the popular iPhone 3G – will be able to get their favorite multimedia content on the road after converting it with Nero Move it.

Even though the number of supported devices is already great, the Nero representative wanted to emphasize that more gadgets would become compatible in the near future, adding that "Nero is committed to supporting anytime, anywhere access to content and will continue to expand the number of devices supported by Nero Move it. We believe that consumers should be able to take control of their multimedia libraries to decide how and where they want to enjoy their content – be it portability between devices or sharing on online communities such as My Nero and YouTube."

Besides expanded compatibility, the update also brings new features, such as AVCHD, TOD, MTS, MOD and M2TS file format support, which is meant to enable the transfer of AVCHD home video to iPhone or to iPod multimedia players through Nero Move it, and automatic computer shutdown when the transfers are completed.
