NeoOffice, the popular suite of office apps for Mac, has received a new maintenance update in the form of a patch. The second released for NeoOffice 3.0.2, the patch reportedly fixes a bug where cycling through open documents only worked through two documents on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Other fixes are listed in the changelog as well.

Integrating Mac-native features, NeoOffice is based on the OpenOffice.org office suite. The program suite boasts the ability to import, edit and exchange files with other office apps. Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are supported, as are Excel VBA Macros. The software requires that you have at least 512 MB of memory and 400 MB of free disk space.

“NeoOffice is a full-featured set of office applications (including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programs) for Mac OS X. We have created an office suite that is adapted to the unique needs of Mac users by taking the features in Sun Microsystems' OpenOffice.org office suite and adding improvements such as: Extremely stable Mac OS X code that has been in daily use by hundreds of thousands of NeoOffice users since 2003; Significant speed improvements to the OpenOffice.org code; Special services for our donors,” the team behind one of the most popular word-processing applications for Mac OS X says.

In addition to the aforementioned bug fix, the NeoOffice Version 3.0.2 release notes reveal that patch 2 also fixes a problem where accessing an .ods data source with cell borders was extremely slow, as well as a bug where displaying an image context menu disabled the Save toolbar button. Finally, patch 2 addresses a problem where EPS images with the Contour setting enabled do not display when the document is opened.
