NeoOffice users have a new patch to install for their favorite open source suite of office apps. NeoOffice 2.2.5 Patch 2 fixes a few bugs and adds Spanish Translation to the Media Browser. No new features have been added in this release, but the update is highly recommended to all users of NeoOffice 2.2.5.

NeoOffice is a full-featured set of office applications developed especially for Mac OS X. The suite includes word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing and database programs. It boasts the ability to import, edit and exchange files with other office programs. Most Microsoft Office 2007 Word, Excel and PowerPoint files are supported, as are Excel VBA Macros. Fixes included in patch 2 for NeoOffice 2.2.5 are listed below.

- Fixed a bug where moving margins with a PSD image background could cause a crash - Fixed a bug where double-clicking would not always work on G3 and G4 PowerPC machines - Fixed an issue where modal dialogues could display underneath floating tool windows - Fixed a problem where Java system update on Mac OS X 10.5.5 caused fonts to display much too large - Added a Spanish translation to the Media Browser.

By default, the installer only installs English. However, users can get language packs for as many as 57 other languages. To add support for any of the other languages not included in the installer, install NeoOffice 2.2.5 and then download and install the language pack for your language. A list of available language packs can be found here.

To uninstall NeoOffice, drag the application from the Finder into the Mac OS X trash bin. Uninstalling NeoOffice should have no effect on any OpenOffice.org installation that you may have as NeoOffice and OpenOffice.org have completely separate configuration and user files.
