AMC enjoyed some success with “The Killing” but, after two cancelations, it was ready to say goodbye for good to the popular crime series. Thanks to a new deal with Netflix, “The Killing” has been saved from cancelation for the second time in 3 years and will get a 4th and final season.

“The Killing” was canceled for the first time in June 2012, after the Season 2 finale, but it was brought back shortly afterwards. Season 3 ended in August and, though posting better ratings than the previous one, was the final nail in the coffin, at least as far as AMC was concerned, because they canceled it again.

TV Guide confirms now that a new deal with Netflix will bring “The Killing” back for one final round, one that will hopeful offer fans proper closure.

“The rich, serialized storytelling in The Killing thrives on Netflix, and we believe that it is only fitting to give Sarah Linden and Stephen Holder a proper send-off. We are looking forward to offering fans – both existing and new – a series that we know is perfectly suited for on-demand viewing,” Cindy Holland, vice president of original content for Netflix, says.

I’m sure existing fans are thrilled because, honestly, nothing is more frustrating than having your favorite show pulled before you get to see how it ends.
