Need For Speed World, the online racing game from EA, will hold another special community event this weekend, with a big part of the game being redesigned in order to celebrate Halloween, and a special competition will also be available to players, offering big prizes.

Need For Speed World is a new type of title in the popular racing game franchise, offering a multiplayer only experience, and, recently, has been made completely free to play up to the current level cap of 50.

The game has already been host to a special community event at the beginning of the month, dedicated to the Oktoberfest, and now the team at EA has been busy preparing the online title for the next big holiday, Halloween.

Besides redesigning several locations in the online game, the development team will be holding a special contest open to all gamers, which will start this Friday, on October 29.

Since the world will already be dressed up we thought it would be a perfect time to have another community competition," revealed EA. "So starting Friday, October 29th players will have three days to post their best total race time on the special Halloween in game race event 'Ghostwood'. After three days the player with the best total race time will win a Nvidia GeForce GT 240 (1 GB) video card. The players with the second and third best total race times will win some great NFS apparel."

In order to enter the competition, players will just need to send an email to the community manager of NFS World, in which they specify the driver nickname they will use when attempting to set the fastest time in the community event.

Here's the full list of rules for the new community event.
