Naya Rivera has been fired from “Glee” but not because of Lea Michele, several reports claim

Naya Rivera is out of “Glee.” She’s been written out of the season 5 finale, which will air on Fox on May 13, and won’t return for season 6 either, except perhaps for one single episode which will reunite all members of the original cast.

The sixth season will also be the last for the successful Fox musical series.

For the time being, Fox is not commenting on this, but Zachary Jaydon of PopWrapped claims to have it on very good authority that an official announcement is forthcoming. He also says that Naya’s departure has nothing to do with a rumored feud between her and co-star Lea Michele.

In fact, the reason Naya has been unexpectedly written out of the story is that she got “caught in the crossfire between showrunners.” The report notes that her trailer has already been emptied and her pass to the parking lot on the set revoked.

E! News also mentions the fact that Naya’s character won’t be on this season finale of “Glee,” and cites an inside source as saying that this short “break” was much needed, which would suggest that she’ll be back for season 6.

A rep for the actress / singer has already denied these reports, but Fox is keeping oddly mum on the topic, which could mean that there is at least some truth to them.
