At least four people have died in a shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C. earlier today. While police sources originally stated that one shooter was on Navy grounds, recent reports revealed that two men opened fire at the scene.

Washington Post first mentioned that one suspect was down while a second one was on the loose, barricading himself on the base.

WUSA 9 relays that the Naval District of Washington PIO has confirmed that both suspects are “down.”

There is no further information on whether they have been arrested or shot in a confrontation with the police.

Eight people have been injured, and the severity of their wounds has not been disclosed yet.

“#BREAKING: 4 killed and 8 injured. One shooter down #NavyYardShooting #Navy #CNICHQ,” a Navy spokesperson said on Twitter, according to The Washington Times.
