Naughty Dog, the developer behind successful games like The Last of Us or the upcoming Uncharted 4 for the PS4, has just posted a new job listing for a dedicated co-op designer, hinting at the inclusion of such a mode in one of its future titles.

Naughty Dog is one of the most successful internal teams for Sony, bringing the stunning Uncharted games for the PS3 as well as this summer's The Last of Us, but also some classic games for previous consoles from the Japanese company.

Now, the studio is working on different projects, including an Uncharted title for the PS4.

For these new projects, the studio has posted a job listing for a cooperative mode designer, effectively confirming that such an experience will be included in the future.

Check out the position's attributions below, via the official website.

- Co-op AI & encounter design – designing and scripting co-op combat encounters, AI behavior design, and difficulty balancing - Co-op system design – creating mechanics, game modes, progression systems, reward structures, social features, etc. to serve the co-op experience. Creating and iterating gameplay designs with the team, and working in script to implement and/or tune them - Being a producer for your levels and gameplay designs – collaborating across disciplines to get work done and clear dependencies, ensuring deadlines are met, and championing the gameplay

While cooperative multiplayer modes were present in the likes of Uncharted 3, this new position seems to hint at a full-fledged story-based campaign, not just a competitive multiplayer mode that you can play with your friends online.

Requirements needed for this job include lots of experience with co-op games as well as those from the action and third-person genre.

Both The Last of Us and the Uncharted titles were third-person action shooters, so it's unclear on what project the future applicant might work.

As of yet, Naughty Dog hasn't commented on this listing.
