Developer Kadokawa Games has revealed some new information regarding its upcoming role-playing game Natural Doctrine, detailing combat, missions, the world map and the game's difficulty level.

There will be two types of missions that players will be able to select, Story Missions that progress the game's storyline and Free Missions that will allow players to level up their characters and find better gear.

Players will decide on their team composition, turn order and overall strategy depending on the victory requirements that will be presented at the beginning of each stage, with some missions requiring them to eliminate all opposition while others to evacuate a certain target area.

Players will be able to perform a unique action, called a "Link Turn," that will allow characters to perform multiple attacks in a sequence, but failure will have them receive a taste of their own medicine from their opponents.

Having more characters in a certain area increases the odds of a successful Link Turn, and such a powerful move will of course incur a long cooldown on all allies' attacks, offering the enemy an extensive attack window, so balancing the risk/reward of a Link Turn will prove to be instrumental to victory.

As has been previously noted, Natural Doctrine will introduce a very harsh penalty on dying, as once any ally is defeated, it will be game over, so players are advised to save often while on the world map, especially since saving is not allowed during missions and some encounters will prove very challenging.

As such, players will be able to adjust the difficulty level at any time between missions, selecting between easy, normal and hard, depending on their performance and desired challenge, as Gematsu reports.

Natural Doctrine is expected on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita platforms, with its launch scheduled for March 19, in Japan.
