A white bison born just recently at a farm in Connecticut finally got its official name: Yellow Medicine Dancing Boy.

Since white bisons are as rare as one in ten million specimens, people from various Native American communities gathered around to celebrate the calf. Apparently, this very rare animal stands as a symbol of hope and unity.

Therefore, its birth is regarded as a sacred event, which needs be celebrated through traditional songs and chanting.

Just to be clear: the white bison is not an albino. Whereas albinism is a congenital disorder, this calf's bloodline is pure and its birth can only be considered a miracle.

According to several tribal elders, Yellow Medicine Dancing Boy has been sent to the people by the spirit world in order to remind us of the sacredness of life.
