Naruto's first sensei and his number one fan are joining the cast of the upcoming fighting game Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution.

For those of you not in the know regarding the legendary ninja's extensive lore, Naruto's first sensei is Iruka Umino, who is torn apart by the fact that his pupil is now holding the best that killed his parents a long time ago, during the vicious attack on Hidden Leaf Village.

The second character joining the roster of fighters in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is Konohamaru Sarutobi, the grandson of the Third Hokage, intent on becoming Hokage before Naruto Uzumaki.

The characters are joining the fight for the first time, marking another reason why the upcoming brawling title is set to become the biggest hit in the entire franchise.

If you're not yet convinced, you should know that all the content in the game is supervised by none other than the manga's creator himself, Masashi Kishimoto. While developer CyberConnect2 is free to explore various narrative threads, the input from the series' creator is invaluable as far as story tone and consistency go.

Both the manga and anime have been pretty big hits in Japan and in the West, and the games were also pretty well received as well, CyberConnect2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama revealing that the series scored a total of 12 million total units sold worldwide.

The upcoming game mixes fast-paced action with narrative delivery, being created to please both existing fans of the franchise as well as newcomers, and its battle system has also seen quite some improvements, in order to gain the potential to cater to fans of more hardcore fighting games while at the same time being accessible enough for those who are more interested in the story.

The fighting game features a cast of over 100 playable characters, which you can unlock while playing in the World Tournament mode. Gamers can also take part in the Ninja World Tournament mode, engaging in four-way battles against three computer-controlled adversaries.

Bandai Namco's next installment in the Naruto Shippuden series of brawling action games, while introducing some welcome changes and tweaks, will follow the classic recipe that made the franchise a big hit, by keeping its unique mix of action and plot delivery and maintaining the overall anime feel.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms, in September of this year.
