Rapper dismantles her argument calmly, she refuses to see it

For her latest HLN show, Nancy Grace invited rapper 2 Chainz on to discuss the possibility of legalization of marijuana. 2 Chainz is a self-titled pothead / stoner, and has long advocated for this measure, arguing that it would free up a lot of taxpayers’ money that would be put to much better use, to solve actual problems.

Grace, on the other hand, wanted him to understand that legalizing pot would mean everyone would have free access to it, so people like the horrible parents whose videos she found on YouTube, showing them letting their toddlers smoke a joint, would also be “encouraged” to act this stupidly and irresponsibly.

Nancy Grace didn’t realize it, but she lost the “debate.”

Nancy rants, 2 Chainz keeps calm and delivers good arguments

The point of having a debate in the first place is to allow another person to express their opinion so you can attempt to prove them wrong by using solid arguments. They will attempt to do the same.

Though Nancy invited 2 Chainz on the show for this purpose, it becomes clear from the first minute of the interview that she won’t debate with him on anything: what she will do, instead, is launch accusations, try to shame him, not listen to arguments and stick to her story. She will also ask him several questions at once and then not allow him the time to answer at least one.

Nancy’s biggest argument is that the children will suffer if marijuana is legalized, because she’s seen the aforementioned videos.

2 Chainz’s counterarguments included stuff like: alcohol and cigarettes are also bad for your health and they’re not illegal but you don’t give them to children; decriminalizing marijuana would free up money spent on arrests, court appearances and jails housing convicts for this particular crime; decriminalizing marijuana would not lead to higher consumption of or a wider reach for the drug because, right now, pretty much everyone in the US can and will score pot from a seller even if it’s illegal.

However, what made 2 Chainz a winner of this “debate” was the fact that he managed to maintain his composure while his interviewer ranted and seemed thisclose to foaming at the mouth. No one ever wins an argument by losing their cool like that, Nancy.

Legalization of marijuana, a hot topic

Recreational use of marijuana remains a very hot topic in the US, but not only. Decriminalizing pot is an even hotter one, with both camps being able to deliver sound arguments to argue their case.

Those in opposition usually do a much better job at it than Nancy did just now, what with losing her temper, ranting and not being able to conduct a debate she herself had proposed. She will probably never underestimate a guest again.
