Nadya Suleman made headlines last week for baring her post-pregnancy body for a British publication and getting paid for the job but that's not to say she's in the clear financially. In fact, she's back on welfare and living on food stamps.

When the controversy began after she gave birth to the octuplets three years ago, and word got out that she had another 6 children at home living on state support, Suleman said it was a one-time thing.

In fact, less than 2 years ago, Octomom vouched she would never live on assistance again, saying she had decided she would work as hard as she could to provide for her impressive brood.

TMZ has learned that she's back on food stamps.

“The mother of 14 is getting $2,000 [€1,497.4] a month from the State of California. The money is deposited directly into a special debit card account. The card can ONLY be used for food – and it's closely monitored by the State to make sure the cardholder isn't making illegal purchases – i.e., buying a bike at Costco,” TMZ reports.

“Octo qualified for the card because her income is less than $119,000 [€89,098.5] a year... and a family of 15 that makes less than that amount is entitled to welfare benefits,” adds the same e-zine.

“In case you're wondering, the $119,000 figure is based on an average of just under $8,000 [€5,989.8] for each member of the household. The more kids, the more you can make and still receive welfare,” TMZ explains.

Embedded at the end of the article is a video taken by a TMZ paparazzo, who grills Suleman on whether she feels any guilt for going back on her word of never going on welfare again.

She repeatedly says that those who complain about that have a real problem, because it's a only temporary solution for her.

In other words, if taxpayers are upset that they're paying for Suleman's whim of having 14 kids without a father and any considerable source of revenue, it's their problem, not hers.

Octomom also insists that people should take issue with those who infiltrate the system and live only on welfare, not with her and others in her situation, who only use state support on a temporary basis, to help them get back on their feet.
