Nadine Coyle defends her figure saying she’s being bullied for being thinner, losing some weight

Earlier this month, a set of fresh pictures of Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle outside her London apartment made fans and the media alike wonder out loud whether she was not suffering from some eating disorder or pushing herself too much. Pics showed her incredibly thin arms and legs, which prompted speculation on her weight. However, this kind of speculation is just another form of bullying, Coyle herself says for Closer magazine.

Her weight has often been the target of malicious tabloids, as fans would know. Still, this time around, things have really gotten out of hand, the singer says, and she wants to put an end to the rumors herself. She does so by telling her fans that she remains dedicated to a very healthy lifestyle, which explains her recent weight loss. Aside from eating healthily, the singer has also been working out a bit more – but that’s all there is to this story, she insists.

“People should stop bullying me about my weight. One minute they say I’m too plump, the next they say I’m too thin. I can never win. Everyone is always speculating about my weight, saying I don’t eat. Why don’t they just leave me alone?” Coyle says for Closer magazine. All this time, though, reports in the British media have suggested that she’s well beyond the recommended BMI (Body Mass Index), peaking at 16, which is precisely on the verge of underweight.

“I am totally happy with my weight. I’m not unhealthy at all! I’m just doing a lot of running with my trainer back home in LA,” the singer adds as to her daily regime. This comes to rubbish speculation that she would often spend an entire day on little else than plain water and strenuous workout sessions. Her manager, Bruce Garfield, agrees with her, having said a while ago that, “She’s probably in the best shape she’s ever been in spiritually, mentally, physically. She’s never been better.”

As we also informed you a few days ago, when rumors on Coyle’s health began to pick up again, it was reported that she was also under a lot of pressure to be thin. Nadine is now looking to launch her own solo career and has to defeat very strong competition from none other than fellow Girl Aloud Cheryl Cole, who is taking the British charts by storm with her first solo album.
