“The original Tempest is one of our most successful designs due to its optimal airflow capabilities” Johnny Hou, chief designer at NZXT, said. “With the additional improvements the Tempest EVO brings to the equation, it’s destined to be a top performer in its class.”

NZXT is mainly focused on creating products in tune with the highest demands of gamers, as the gaming industry is one of the main forces driving the rapid evolution of graphics and computing technology. Its new Tempest EVO is a solid steel mid-tower casing, which builds upon the original award-winning design of the Tempest casing. The new version improves most of the features delivered by the previous incarnation of the Tempest chassis, including cooling power, expandability and cable management.

The Tempest EVO maximizes the airflow circulation with Dual 120mm intake fans, a 120mm fan on the side of the casing and one at the rear. The developers actually went as far as remodeling the fan blades (nine-blade design) in order to both improve airflow and reduce noise.

Cooling and cables are far from being the only features of the EVO. The E-ATX support provides compatibility with high-end graphics cards and can hold up to eight hard drives, providing a high possibility for future system upgrades. The Power, E-SATA, USB and Reset buttons are mounted at the top to give a better accessibility and the installation and upgrades are easily made with pre-drilled cable routing on the motherboard, allowing for a clean look and excellent airflow.

The case also features an added space behind the motherboard panel from a punched side-panel design that allows for an easy heatsink removal. The pre-drilled water-cooling tube access and support for a dual 120mm radiator at the top panel give Tempest EVO buyers high possibilities for overclocking and water-cooling. A better airflow distribution and cooling are also acquired through the bottom-mounted PSU, which also helps separate the heat from the CPU.

The Tempest EVO weighs 11.2 Kg, is made of steel and is available at an MSRP of $99.99, More information can be found here.
